Rogue Rogue is a classic, turn-based dungeon crawl that was popularized on university Unix systems during the 80's and is credited with starting the "roguelike" genre of games. In Rogue, the player is charged with obtaining the Amulet of Yendor at the bottom of the dungeon, and then ascending to the surface. It was one of the first graphical roleplaying games, and one of the earliest fantasy games to feature randomized dungeons.

Since its release, it has inspired countless remakes, clones, and similar games, including the popular mainstream game series Diablo. [source:tigdb]
