Empire Earth II Empire Earth II is Mad Doc Software?s sequel to Gamespy.com?s 2001 ?PC Game of the Year,? Empire Earth. With the whole course of human history as a backdrop, Empire Earth II pairs in-depth RTS strategy with a variety of unique features designed to assist newcomers to the genre.

Mad Doc has added multiple innovations to RTS gameplay. To maintain control over their economy quickly and efficiently, a player has the option to use a revolutionary citizen manager, which issues orders to their citizens through an intuitive full screen map. The Picture-in-Picture display is a separate on-screen window that allows the player to keep tabs on multiple locations all over the map. Mad Doc also introduced the Crown system, which gives a temporary (but valuable) bonus to that player who excels in imperialism, economic growth, or military power.

Empire Earth II?s expansive single player campaigns capture some of the key moments of human history. They begin with the origins of Korea, as the tribal cultures struggle for unity and independence from neighboring China. The focus then shifts to the 13th century and follows Prussia?s eventual formation into powerful and influential Germanic nation. Finally, the player takes over America?s forces, beginning at 1898 with America?s entrance in the Spanish-American War, and ending with highly advanced technological warfare at the end of the 21st century. Empire Earth II also presents the option to choose sides during Turning Points scenarios (Battle of Normandy and the Battle of the Three Kingdoms), which illustrate two key conflicts in history.

Empire Earth II?s multiplayer and skirmish features are equally extensive. Starting in any one of 15 Epochs ranging from the pre-historic to the futuristic, multiplayer games give players numerous customizable settings, allowing the host to alter almost any aspect of gameplay. Upgrade your military from bowmen to tanks to robots, all over the course of a single game. Use the War Planner to send illustrations of coordinated attacks to your allies and prepare for battle. Empire Earth II also has a Quick Start Option that allows players to begin with a pre-established army and play a quick 20 minute game. With nine game types, a multitude of diplomacy and gamepace settings, and up to 10 players per game, every match has the opportunity to be completely unique. [source:mobygames]
