A boy named Dummling is in a forest to gathering firewood with his brothers when he is the only one to share some food with a poor old man and is given a golden goose in return for his kindness. However when the boy is walking to the king with the goose, greedy people who come up and touch it become stuck to it. Having finally arrived with a whole group of greedy people stuck together, the daughter of the king takes a liking to Dummling. But the king will only let her marry him if Dummling performs three tasks.

Rather than in previous episodes where most of the gameplay involves Grimm walking over the levels and darkening them and the resulting changed storyline, this episode mostly has the player trying to complete the three tasks. One involves finding someone who will drink an entire cell full of wine. Grimm must jump up stacks of barrels and among wooden beams and pipes in the ceiling as a tide of wine starts rising from below. The dark version of the tale is shown when all levels are completed.
