Game Classification

Based on the classic DOS game Anacreon: Reconstruction 4021, this shareware remake (by the original game's designer) adds a graphical, mouse-driven interface while retaining the original's concept of turn-based, strategy gaming at a cosmic level. Featuring a number of scenarios for single or multiple players, Anacreon: Imperial Conquest in the Far Future puts the player in control of a star empire.

It's up to the player to oversee their empire, planet by planet. Guide a planet's economy, manage its resources, and provide for its defense. The player must raise fleets, send probes out to explore unknown regions, set up trade routes, and choose a path of diplomacy or war.

The game comes with eight original scenarios and the Scenario Pack adds eleven classic levels. [source:mobygames]
