Assassin Blue is a professional hitman who works for the government. He is contracted to take out anyone that conspires to bring down the regime. During one of the missions however he starts to questions the motives when he is asked to kill an innocent woman and child who witness one of assassinations. That way, he enters a conflict with another assassin Red and his boss.

Assassin Blue is a platformer that consists of twelve levels. Player control the hitman during his missions as he takes out various targets. Most of them are hidden and it takes some time to find them. He can fight using a sword with a regular attack and a stab to break through defensive stances. By collecting special tokens, new combos can be unlocked as well as a boss rush mode where all boss enemies need to be taken down one after another. Hints about Blue's past are provided after completing missions and through an extra cut-scene from the shop where the combos can be bought. The overall game speed is somewhat slower than similar games.

Other movement includes jumping on platforms, dodging fire and spikes, temporary platforms, gliding from walls, walljumping and hanging from vines and ceilings. There are minor puzzle elements involving switches to clear the path. During boss fights, there are also timed sequences where the correct buttons need to be pressed to continue fighting. Health can be replenished through green plus icons and there is an unlimited amount of continues.

Optionally, a soundtrack pack can be downloaded and extracted in the game's directory to add music to the game. [source:mobygames]
