Asteroid's Revenge Science fiction video games are full of revisitations from enemies thought vanquished; from Doh and Borf to Vohaul and Draxon to Jeff Minter's Mutant Camels... even the lowly planet(oid) Pluto had a chance to strike back!

And it is that last reference that resounds most resonantly here, the player guiding one of video gaming's earliest antagonists, a titular asteroid from Asteroids, in fine vector fashion as in the original coin-op. Floating idly through space, your goal is to avenge your countless stony brethren, gradually reduced to space dust, by adjusting your trajectory (with your orientation helpfully indicated with an arrow) so as to collide with those infuriating little wedge-shaped spaceships. True to form, however, they fire shots off as they drift and rotate idly through space, and threaten to diminish your asteroid to a mere inoffensive fraction of its size after only three hits. Unlike the superior pilot of Asteroids, however, they will not manoeuvre around you, nor employ their hyperspace jump. (Sadly, no UFOs from that game will join you in this grudge match.)

Human reproduction being what it is, they will replace every ship you take out; that said, you can still get satisfaction from reducing countless little vessels into flaming wreckage, spinning endlessly through the lonely vacuum of the unfriendly cosmos. [source:mobygames]
