Bit.Trip Flux is yet another retro-styled, rhythm-themed title for the Wii's WiiWare service from Aksys and Gaijin games. Flux has basic similarities to, and is in many ways, very much like a "remix" of Bit.Trip Beat, wherein the player uses the Wii Remote to slide a paddle up and down to reflect tonal dots moving rhythmically across the screen to build scores and multipliers.

Players are tasked with reflecting all dots or "beats" as they move across the screen from left to right, and continually reflecting the beats "modes up" the audio and visual presentation, as well as the score, whereas missing too many "modes down" everything to simple, generally dull black and white--potentially without any audio at all. Miss too many beats, however, and there is no actual game over--instead, poor performance will simply result in the player returning to the previous checkpoint.

The game features three stages known as Epiphany, Perception, and Catharsis. Initially, only Epiphany is unlocked, and completing this stage unlocks Perception, which unlocks Catharsis. Each stage contains multiple checkpoints. Besides featuring beats that players must reflect, Flux adds a new twist to the Beat formula in that there are Avoid beats (which damages the paddle, and "modes down"), and there are power-ups which improve the paddle, such as improving it's size.

Unlike Beat, which could be played by up to four players at once, Flux simultaneous play for only two players.
