Cajun Cop: The French Quarter Caper Inspector Jacques Lamont is searching for a gang of jewel thieves in the streets of New Orleans, gathering clues to finally find and arrest the elusive criminals.

Cajun Cop is a hidden object game that borrows some ideas from the adventure genre, like the inclusion of an inventory and its associated puzzles. Most of the time the objective is to find and click on all the items from a list at the bottom of the screen, on many locations around the city of New Orleans. Some of the collected objects are stored in the inventory at the right side, to be dragged and dropped on specific portions of the scenery to perform actions or complete tasks. The player can move between locations by clicking on shimmering exit hotspots, usually placed on logical places like doors and other openings. The hint button is a magnifying glass at the bottom-right that highlights the position of one of the required items, but takes 45 seconds to recharge after use.

There are mini-games and puzzles that take place on a separate screen, where the player has to reassemble a jigsaw puzzle with pieces of a torn letter, find all the differences between two similar pictures, adjust the focus of a fingerprint image to find its matching pair, play a tile-matching game with pizza ingredients, complete a electrical circuit path, untangle several lines connected to jewels, move wood blocks to clear the way for a key and complete other similar challenges.
