Curse of the Pharaoh: Tears of Sekhmet Anna is an archaeologist that, along with Professor Cullen, discovers inside Egyptian ruins the Curse of Nefertiti, a powerful artifact that can destroy the world. Her evil step-brother Will arrives with thugs and steals the Curse, leaving Anna an Cullen buried alive inside a tomb complex. She must escape, and search for the seven Tears of Sekhmet jewels to stop Will and his plans.

Curse of the Pharaoh: Tears of Sekhmet is a hidden object game with adventure elements. Most of the time, the objective is to find and click on all the items from a list at the bottom of the screen, on locations filled with assorted objects. Some entries are marked red or blue, indicating that the object is going to be stored in one of the inventories. In some instances, the screen is split in two similar images, and the player has to click on the differences between them. The hint button shows the position of one of the required items. Extra hints can be acquired by capturing a creature called Wipi, that keeps randomly appearing on the sides of the screen.

The interface at the bottom has a series of tabs, each marked with a unique icon. The magnifying glass tab shows the list of objects that have to be found on the scene. The blue gears tab is the tools inventory, from where the stored objects can be dragged and dropped on logical places to perform an action. The tab with a red jigsaw puzzle piece icon holds all the objects that can be used to solve a puzzle. The brown sack tab has all the help items purchased from the shop screen.

Besides the required objects, each screen/location has three coins that can be collected, to be used later on the shop, and a piece of a mask. The shop screen can be accessed from the map screen, with five helpful tools that can be bought with the accumulated funds: extra hints, double cursor for the spot-the-differences mini-game, a big flashlight casting a larger spotlight on darkened rooms, a hammer to skip puzzles, an oxygen tank for extra time on flooded scenes and a mirror to flip inverted scenes. Some puzzles take place on a separate screen, where a mechanism of some sort has to be manipulated directly to solve it. [source:mobygames]
