Dan! Da! Dan! Dan! Da! Dan! is a freeware game that combines ideas from traditional vertical shooters with color-matching titles like Mr. Driller. The player controls a ship flying upwards while shooting descending walls made of multi-colored blocks, trying to reach the end of the level before time runs out. Clusters of connected blocks of the same color disappear when shot, enabling the ship to open a safe path through them to avoid collision. Some of the blocks contain power-ups, while others are filled with projectiles, exploding and scattering them around to all directions when destroyed.

There are two types of weapons, each assigned to a different button. One button shoots an infinite stream of short laser beams, with a special secondary shot that can be charged by holding down the trigger and releasing it for a large circle that can't be stopped, penetrating even beyond the indestructible blocks. The hyper shot spreads lots of projectiles in a wide arc for a few seconds, but takes some time to recharge after use. [source:mobygames]
