Demon's Eye III The game is set in an alternate version of the Earth. The time period is not specified, and the abundance of fictional elements make it impossible to identify; but the state of technology clearly predates modern times. Demons have began invading the Earth, coming from the East and already engulfing half of Asia. Europe is actively fighting the demonic hordes; but during the last battles, its strongest heroes were slain. The new generation is represented by the son of the great hero Winzark (created and named by the player). He teams up with Claire, the daughter of Jurgen, another great hero, and offers his services to the king of a fictional country Endeliassen. The king sends the hero and his companions on a quest for Demon's Eye, a powerful artifact that alone can stop the demonic invasion.

The game plays like a very old-school Japanese RPG, particularly similar to early Dragon Quest games: simple top-down graphics, world map navigation, random first-person-view battles, basic character-building system, and even the necessity to enter menu commands for different actions (such as "search" for opening chests or doors). A somewhat unusual feature is the possibility to create the protagonist of the game, choosing his portrait, some of his interests, and allocating initial points to increase his parameters.
