Ed Hunter Ed Hunter is a rail shooter set in a series of levels based on some of Iron Maiden?s most popular albums. Ed Hunter, the main character, is a private detective hired to free Eddie (Iron Maiden?s mascot) from an insane asylum. Hunter begins in London?s East Side, shooting thugs armed with guns and bottles who either charge at Hunter or pop-up suddenly, fun house style. The game moves to the asylum where Eddie escapes, leading the player on a chase through Hell and other nightmarish levels.

Ed Hunter, the game, comprises the last two disks of the three CD Ed Hunter album. The album acts as a greatest hits collection, with its twenty tracks having been selected by fans on the Maiden Website. These tracks play during the game.
