Enchanted Forest Enchanted Forest is a game set in - appropriately - a forest. It uses a top-down view, which allows you to see the layout of the forest (with randomly-distributed trees) and your current position within it.

It requires to register an account to save your progress, though it's very fast and requires just entering an username and a password. At the beginning of the game, you have 0 gold pieces, 1000 hit points and 1 saw. The goal is to end the game while gaining as many points as possible - points are awarded mainly for the accumulated gold, but also for killed monsters, finding an artifact and escaping the forest (this is one way to end the game; another is to get killed by losing all hit points.)

By pressing one of the four direction buttons (North, West, South, East), you can move your character one step in that direction. Each time you enter a previously unvisited square, a random occurrence happens: you can find some gold just lying around on the ground; a strength potion, which restores hit points; a trap, which damages you; a chest, which can be opened to find gold pieces within, though there's a chance it will be trapped; monsters, who guard treasures - you can fight the monsters to gain their treasure (gold pieces) but also lose some HP, attempt to run from them (this can fail though), or bribe them to avoid combat; a gambling saloon, where you can bet an amount of gold pieces, with hopes to win back more; finding some saws (they allow you to cut down trees that stand in your way, but are one-use); or coming upon a giant condor, which will teleport you to a random part of the forest.

There is an artifact called Blackstone within the forest; finding it will gain you a large amount of gold pieces and also give you a lot of bonus points at the end of the game. Sometimes, during your travel, you'll receive a hint as to the location of the Blackstone; finding it is composed mainly of stumbling around randomly, though. [source:mobygames]
