Extreme Prejudice is a side-view shooter in which the player takes the role of a Special-Ops agent recently initiated into the National Defense Unit, having just recently graduated from the organization's training programs. Only two months into the job, the unnamed protagonist is personally given a new mission from the commissioner with few concrete details. All that the agent knows is that he must infiltrate the headquarters of the technology development and production firm Antrack, which is thought to be involved in much more suspect business. Given no support, back-up, or assistance he must breach the grounds and assassinate the leader of the corporation with no more than a flak vest and an MP-5 stuck on single fire mode.

The game is segmented into a series of stand-alone fixed screen levels which the player must navigate across, sometimes by means of platforming, while avoiding threats such as automated machine guns and the occasional mine. Security personal are scattered throughout the levels and will attempt to prevent the player from progressing using weapons such as flamethrowers, shotguns, and laser turrets. As the game advances enemies will become more difficult and new adversaries will be introduced which tie into the developing plot.

A password system is used in place of a save system, whereby each level is given a different password which is entered to jump to that point in the game. [source:mobygames]
