F-22 Raptor is a vertically scrolling shoot 'em up. Shooting is done automatically so that the player can focus on movement of the plane. In addition to normal movement options the player can also do barrel rolls that help avoid the enemy aircraft. The game features a cobra mode that can be entered at any time and makes the player invincible for a few seconds. The player can, in addition to normal bullets, use rockets in two different modes: simple and advanced. In simple mode the rockets explode at the first enemy encountered while the advanced mode lets the player choose a specific target. The player also has access to a couple of bombs. The enemy has rockets too and to avoid being hit, the player can use flares to attract the rockets away from his plane. At some occasions the player will come across quick time events where a number is displayed on the screen. To succeed with the event the player has to enter the number quickly. [source:mobygames]
