The Famous Five: Kidnapped! The Famous Five: Kidnapped! is the third episode in Ravensburger's Famous Five series after the books of Enid Blyton for ages 7 and up.

Julian, Dick, Anne, George and the dog Timmy are staying at Kirrin Cottage during the summer holidays. They want to set up a campsite at the One-eyed Pirate, an old inn located nearby the cottage. When they have managed to set up the tents, a stranger arrives who says that they are trespassing on private property. To get a permit they have to go to Mrs Miller at the farmhouse, where they meet Eddy, a boy who is staying at the farm. They learn that Eddy is the son of a rich businessman and that the man who asked for the permit is his bodyguard. Eddy likes to hide from him and soon the five have to look for the boy when he has run away again. However, the next day a policeman arrives at the camp site and tells them that Eddy is missing again. This time he has been kidnapped, as the kidnappers have left a ransom note. It's up to the Famous Five to find and free Eddy and to set a trap for the kidnappers.

The active characters are George or Dick. They execute the actions and carry a backpack that holds the inventory items. A hidden menu at the left bottom corner of the screen gives access to a travel map, a main menu and an options menu (in the English edition). The latter includes options to switch on or off hot spot names and dialogue text. Dialogues can be skipped using the Escape key. In the original German edition the player can switch between German and English. The game directory includes a hint file. [source:mobygames]
