F.D.N.Y. Firefighter: American Hero Endorsed by the New York City Fire Department, this game was designed to honor the brave heroes who served during the September 11th attacks on New York's Twin Towers in 2001.

Similar to the previous game, In the Line of Duty: Firefighter, you play a fireman who must enter burning buildings to rescue victims trapped inside. Douse flames with high pressure water hoses and extinguishers. Hack away anything blocking your path with your axe.

Improvements to the previous game include: a more realistic environment (smoldering ash, falling debris, billowing smoke, explosions), 12 new missions with more varied locations, and a "companion" firefighter who comes to your aid when rescuing victims. The interface has been enhanced to allow a more complete range of motion and view.

Switching between first and third person view is possible like in the earlier game, and mouse or keyboard controls can be used. [source:mobygames]
