GalPaniX is a freeware clone of Gals Panic, a series of Japanese arcade games where the objective is to draw connecting lines to uncover a background picture, while avoiding collision with a plethora of enemies and their projectiles showering from all directions. The gameplay is similar to Qix, while at the same time implementing some of the ideas found on scrolling shooters.

The player controls a drawing cursor, that can only move inside the uncovered perimeter when not creating lines. A small area of random size is opened at the start of each level, and the final goal is to expand it until it reveals the full background picture. The pictures are cartoons taken from adult games with explicit content, showing girls in suggestive poses. New sections are uncovered by pressing the drawing button to start connecting a line of any radius back to the area already exposed. The line becomes an extension of the cursor while being drawn, and any collision destroys both. Releasing the button makes the cursor quickly return to the starting point.

There are several smaller enemies roaming the screen, and a large boss foe that moves sporadically, shooting bullets and missiles at random intervals. The enemies can't enter the exposed areas, but can shoot at the cursor. They can be killed by quickly drawing a line and revealing the section where they are standing. They leave a power-up after being eliminated, that can be collected for speed boosts and other helpful aids. [source:mobygames]
