Guardian The name "Guardian" sounds like a euphemism for "Defender", and indeed there are similarities. This is a side-scrolling shooter with the same kind of space ship, the same kind of aliens and the same kind of landscape as Defender, but without all the technicalities of that game. You don't rescue humans, and the scroll is forced in one direction. You simply have to shoot your way through hordes of aliens, with more and more of them occupying the screen as you progress. The aliens are mostly fixed in their position, but will sometimes move a step up or down to get in your way. As you progress further, additional alien types are introduced. [source:mobygames]
