Gameplay

The gameplay of this title is Game-based
(designed with stated goals)

The core of gameplay is defined by the rules below:

Guild Wars: PvP Access Kit The Guild Wars: PvP Access Kit is the successor to Guild Wars: Prophecies (PvP Edition), Guild Wars: Factions (PvP Edition) and Guild Wars: Nightfall (PvP Edition), combining them all in one and adding the PvP components of Guild Wars: Eye of the North (namely the skill-set and the heroes).

The player has only access to the Battle Isles (with the exception of Fort Aspenwood, the Jade Quarry and Alliance Battle, which are physically on the Factions map), where the major PvP areas are concentrated. Low level PvP-arenas are unavailable as PvP-characters are always level 20 (max level) and the low level arenas are designed for lower (PvE) characters.

The PvP Access Kit gives instant access to Random Arena (4vs4 at random), Team Arena (4vs4 team based), Heroes' Ascent (8vs8 tournament), Hero Battle (1vs1 with 3 heroes per side), Guild vs. Guild (8vs8), Fort Aspenwood (8vs8 at random), Jade Quarry (8vs8 at random) and Alliance Battle (12vs12, combines team and random based). In addition, the Great Temple of Balthazar (the Guild Wars gaming hub, as its shared with all campaigns), Isle of the Nameless (Training), Zaishen Challenge (Training), Zaishen Elite (Training) and the Zaishen Menagerie (Animal companion zoo) are also available.

Component-wise provides the PvP Access Kit access to all the (non-PvE) skills, weapon upgrades, runes, insignia and heroes of Prophecies, Factions, Nightfall and Eye of the North. However in a locked state.

The Kit itself offers 60 unlocks (20 normal skills, 20 elite skills and 20 items), the rest gets unlocked by either playing the game (winning Balthazar faction and turning them in at Priests of Balthazar) or by buying Skill Unlock Packs in the Guild Wars In-Game Store. [source:mobygames]
