Armageddon is a booster pack for Hearts of Iron II: Doomsday and adds two new campaigns called Abyss and Armageddon to the original game.

Both campaigns start in 1936 and tell the story of eight fictional countries like the European Soviets (England) or the House Bourbone (France) which have absorbed all the other countries with force. The difference between the campaigns are the starting conditions. In Abyss you start with a small army and all countries are still at peace with each other. In Armageddon total war rages but you already have access to a good army. But although everything seems to be balanced for everyone at the beginning, it's not. Because of the different shapes of the continents some countries have longer boundaries or very long shores which give them a natural advantage.

Besides the two campaigns there are also small additions and changes. For example you now have access to increments for your naval units like radar or air raid defences. It's also possible now to decide if you want to keep the tech-teams and the full production of a newly annexed region. [source:mobygames]
