A young traveler is has just arrived in a new city, when out of the blue, the king summons him and sends him on a quest to rescue the princess! "But I'm just a normal traveler, what can I do?" he thinks, heading off reluctantly. Just as he is leaving the city, a rather pushy fairy presents herself, convincing him to take up the quest. And so, off they go to rescue the princess.
Heppoko Kishi (Fraudulent Knight) is a straightforward action platform game starring a young traveler-cum-knight who feels he has no business being a knight. He can run, jump, and attack the myriad creatures that attack him. Each stage consists of several platform sections, with the last section featuring a large boss. Death will send the knight back to the beginning of the area with full health. After defeating each boss, he is granted a new weapon to use, and can freely switch between them as necessary.
In addition to the standard game, there is also a "Strong New Game" mode where the knight starts out fully equipped with all available weapons, and an "Otaku Style" mode where the knight will die after from just a single hit. [source:mobygames]
