Insider Tales: The Secret of Casanova While on vacation, Francesca DiPorta receives a phone call from Professor Manini, summoning her to his manor in Italy. She arrives to the place and finds no sign of her old acquaintance, but soon discovers among his belongings the journal of the famous adventurer Casanova, with clues about a magical amulet that was torn apart and hidden on four European cities. She must travel and find all the missing parts to solve the mystery.

Like its predecessor, Insider Tales: The Secret of Casanova is a hidden object game where most of the time the goal is to search and click on all the items from a list at the bottom of the screen, on locations around Europe filled with assorted paraphernalia scattered across the scenery. In some cases, the objective is to find several instances of the same object. Some of the items collected are stored inside the inventory space besides the list, to be used later on the adventure portion.

Each location starts with the initial hidden object challenge, followed by an adventure section where the inventory objects have to be dragged and dropped on appropriate and logical portions of the scenery to solve puzzles. The hint button is a magnifying glass with a ? mark, showing the exact position of one of the required items when activated, but taking some time to recharge after use.

There are a few puzzles that take place on a separate screen, where a mechanism of some sort has to be manipulated directly to solve it and complete the location. Standard challenges of the genre, like jigsaw puzzles and a spot-the-differences game between two similar pictures, are included as well. [source:mobygames]
