The Kite The Kite is a 2D point-and-click adventure game about domestic abuse. It tells the story of the Russian couple Masha and Oleh who live in a humble apartment. Oleh has trouble at work and turns to liquor and beating his wife when he gets home. Masha tries to be supportive and wants to turn the situation around, but she does not know what to do. She can hardly provide any food for their young boy, Andrew. Players control Masha mostly after a fight between the couple. Andrew does not want to hear his parents fight and flees to the roof to fly his kite. Afterwards, he disappears and Masha tries to find back her son while Oleh is glued to the television.

Players control Masha through a classic point-and-click mechanism as she explores the apartment and the surroundings for a trace of her son. The left mouse button is used to interact and the right one is used to examine objects. Items can be picked up, stored in an inventory, and be used with each other or objects in the environment. The cursor changes when an object can be interacted with. It is also possible to talk to other characters, but there are no conversation trees. Most of the game is rendered in hues of sepia with sparse touches of brighter colours. The soundtrack consists entirely of classical compositions by Ludwig van Beethoven. The game is fairly short and contains one puzzle that takes more work to solve than the regular ones. [source:mobygames]
