In K.O. Boxing the player takes a role of a new boxer who wants to get all the way to the top. Of course the most important part of an athlete's life is the training. In this game the player can choose between six different exercises, e.g. weight lifting or sprinting, which improve different stats like stamina or speed. The gameplay is similar to the Epyx sports games: Bashing two buttons fast or rhythmical.

The fights are in a 3rd person perspective and have a comic look. Here the player has three actions he can perform: high and low punches respectively blocking maneuvers. Every boxer has two bars on top of the screen with show his stamina and punching strength. These are based on the boxer's stats and change depending on the process of the fight. [source:mobygames]
