LaserCat returns home one day to find that his owl friend Owlfriend has been kidnapped by the evil magic space frog Wizzord. Wizzord demands one million British Pounds Sterling of LaserCat for the release of Owlfriend, to be paid in full before tea time...but LaserCat doesn't have one million British Pounds Sterling! Thus, he decides he must take matters into his own hands, venturing into Wizzord's castle to rescue Owlfriend himself.

LaserCat is a multi-screen exploration-based platform game comparable to Jet Set Willy or VVVVVV. Exploring the castle, which contains 225 rooms total, the eponymous LaserCat must collect the 30 keys hidden throughout in order to open the gate to Owlfriend's cage. When collected, keys send LaserCat to the Riddle Realm, where they are presented with a trivia question -- answer correctly, and he can keep the key, but answer wrong and he is dropped in a pit of lava. Checkpoints are generously placed around the castle, and can also be warped between for easy travel. Death sends the player back to the last checkpoint reach, and returns and keys carried to their original location, but carries no other penalties. [source:mobygames]
