Rush for the Bomb is an expansion pack to Rush for Berlin. During the war, the Fifth Column, a secret Nazi spy division, infiltrated the laboratories of the US Manhattan Project. There, they got their hands on research data that would allow the Third Reich to construct their own atomic bomb. This story is told from both sides in two new campaigns, one for the Germans and one for the Allied forces, with 12 new missions in total, set in new locations such as Norway, the Balearic Islands and the Iberian peninsula. The Allies need to protect their secrets, while the Germans have to steal the documents and get them back to Berlin. Just like the base game, each mission has a time limit and the other gameplay mechanics also remain incorporated.

Players take on the role of 5 new heroes, who control additional officers with new skills, as well as new units. The 3 new officers are the Allied Mobile Infantry Officer (triangulation, mobile medics, masterful leadership), the Russian Military Intelligence Officer (fireproof armor, Bolshevik motivation, motor pool boost) and the German Feldkommandant (piercing rounds, German efficiency, defense intel). The new units include the Aero Sledge NKL-26, Horten Ho-229 Flying Wing, Messerschmitt Bf-109, Junkers Ju 87 Stuka and M4 Sherman Calliope. New multiplayer maps have been included as well.
