Robin's Quest: A Legend Born Robin's Quest is a point-and-click adventure with hidden object screens based on the famous legend of Robin Hood, but changing the traditional gender of the outlaw hero. In this retelling, Robin is a woman fighting the injustice of Prince John and his associates in medieval England. After being arrested and sent to jail along with her husband, she breaks free and starts to assemble the Merry Men to rescue her spouse from the dungeons.

The player assumes the role of the main character, seeing the world from her perspective. Most of the time, the objective is to collect a series of items and use them on the available locations to solve puzzles and complete quests. The objects are stored inside inventory slots at the bottom, from where they can be dragged and dropped on appropriate and logical places. Some key items are only received after completing one of the hidden object challenges, taking place on a separate screen where all the entries from a list at the bottom have to be found and clicked amongst the scattered paraphernalia cluttering the scenery.

As a reminder, pending tasks are listed all the time at the top left corner. Robin needs the help of the Merry Men to complete certain objectives and receive some of the quests from the locals. She has to enlist them by collecting all the pieces of their letters of pardon, whose parts are concealed on several locations. Once they become part of the group, their special abilities are added to her repertoire, besides her skill with the bow and arrow: Friar Tuck gives a persuasion power and access to church grounds, Little John brings the strength to lift heavy objects, Alan-a-Dale is very nimble and so on.

Mini-games and puzzles take place on a window at the center of the screen, where mechanisms and loose pieces have to be manipulated directly to solve them. The hint button is a jar filled with fireflies, that shows the position of one of the required items when activated. Extra hints can be collected as fireflies fluttering around the screen.
