Runes of Magic: Chapter III - The Elder Kingdoms is the second add-on for Runes of Magic. It has the same business model as the base game which means it is free of charge and finances itself by selling in-game items. The retail version includes several of these items to make up for the price.

It features the new continent Zandorya which is short before falling apart because of problems between the races and interest groups. The young king tries to rescue his continent with the help of his elite troop - and of course the player has an important part in that too...

Besides the new story and its areas, quests and dungeons the game also increases the level cap to 60 and offers more opportunities for the guild's fortresses. There is also a new playing mode with no connection to the normal areas of the game: guild wars. When entering this mode a new map gets generated with various guild stations. Every station brings resources which are used to by defenses. The goal is to control all stations. [source:mobygames]
