Scarygirl Scarygirl is a platformer based on the franchise designed by Nathan Jurevicius, which was also adapted into a line of toys, a graphic novel and a feature film. The game tells the story of a girl who washed up on a deserted peninsula. In her dreams, she is haunted by the vision of her man. She consults her friends Bunniguru and Blister who offer her advice to seek answers, and this will lead into branching paths.

The game is set against colourful backgrounds with different themes for each of the fourteen levels. The girl can move around, jump, activate items in the environments, and spin to take out enemies. During the levels she can collect fish to replenish health, diamonds to add to the score, and eggs that hold surprises. Most items can be picked up and tossed around. In certain levels, she will also ride a bike, jump on bouncing platforms and dive into the ocean. The characters she meets often have tasks that require her to collect items scattered around in order to proceed.

The game uses an online savegame system and there are six mini-games to unlock when the corresponding cartridge is found in a level. These are modelled after classic retro games. [source:mobygames]
