In Seafight II the player controls ships in action oriented sea fights. The player has a choice between England, France, Spain or pirates and can play a campaign on every side. In comparison to its predecessor Seafight the missions are tied together with a story and have more varied goals. Also the controls are now completely mouse-based. Another new features is the possibility to upgrade the ships after missions.
The principle of the fights are still the same: The player turns the ships and fires aimed broadsides. But in later levels the player has to control multiple ships and has to play attention to their course. There are also several obstacles on the map like rocks or maelstroms which can wreck a ship.
