Smaze Smaze is a demake of the 3d first-person shooter Haze, created for the TIGSource Bootleg Demakes competition. While many elements from the original game remain present, the gameplay was adapted to a 2d top-down shooter with graphics and sounds that resemble a NES game from the eighties, especially Ikari Warriors with vertically-scrolling gameplay.

Just like the original game, players control a soldier who has access to a drug that influences the abilities. While the original game's nectar only brought along negative effects, this title's venom also has positive ones. The soldier can get more health, use an upper (speed and firing power crease, firing rate decreases), use a downer (speed and firing power decrease, firing rate increases), and activate perception to see hidden civilians, mines and venom flowers that refill the venom meter. Using any kind of power-up however will distort the entire screen, hallucinations of dead soldiers (just like the original game) or make the soldier's internal program crash - filling the screen with error messages). Many more elements from the original game are adapted, such as the soldier jargon of shouting "boosh" to each other. Haze's trademark colour is turned into pink in this game.

Next to the levels on foot with bosses and various types of enemies, there is also a driving section adapted from the original game. Players can fire regular bullets (or enhanced while using drugs) in eight directions or throw grenades. Although the use of drugs is not encourages because of the negative effects it brings, they need to be used to get through certain sections of the games when too many enemies appear.
