Tycoon City: New York is a city-building simulation similar to the SimCity series. Players are tasked with developing the island of Manhattan, district by district. The focus is on commercial activity and the inhabitant's happiness. The game also allows players to build many of the New York's landmarks, including the Empire State Building, the Chrysler Building, the Statue of Liberty, and the United Nations. The aim is to unlock all districts of Manhattan.
In the "Build New York" mode players build New York district by district, starting with Greenwich Village. The player must complete certain tasks, like organizing parades or achieving a certain happiness level, and compete with business rivals in order to unlock the next district.
In "Sandbox" mode players have control over the entire island right from the start and can choose between different settings for difficulty. [source:mobygames]
