Warthogs Warthogs is an adventure game that uses an innovative time travel mechanic while gently parodying the Harry Potter series.

Other characters in the game walk around on their own during the day, and you have to take advantage of them being somewhere (or not being somewhere) at certain times. Thankfully you can rewind time as often as you need to - it's a bit like Groundhog Day.

At the Warthogs Magic School, Larry Lotter is the kind of student who spends most of his time slacking off and drinking beer. On the day of his final exams, he hasn't studied at all, but he discovers that it's his Destiny that he passes them anyway. Using guile and magic, he has to cheat his way past Mumblemore and Drape's exams - otherwise he won't make it to the next book!

The game was made in AGS. It uses a simple point-n-click interface with only one command, but there are a number of inventory items and over a dozen spells that can be cast on hotspots. For instance, the light spell can be used to make just about anything glow. A nice detail is that saving and restoring the game is also handled via spells.

Warthogs has a look-and-feel similar to old Sierra and LucasArts games. A larger download is available that includes a voice pack. [source:mobygames]
