Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness - Episode 3 The third instalment in the Penny Arcade Adventures series, following the previous episode nearly four years later, picks up the events at the end of the previously game. Gabe and Tycho are still running the Startling Developments Detective Agency. One day, a 10-minutes-long wordless telephone call ? «Ten minutes of full silence», in Tycho's words ? from an impossible-to-locate source arrives.

This episode is done by a different developer and compared to the previous titles the visual style now resembles that of games in the 16-bit era. Similarly, the gameplay reminds of RPGs belonging to that time: the combat system is turn-based and enemy attacks may be interrupted by specific skills. There are however no random battles. The couple of detectives does not have to face the adventure alone, as they are joined by Moira (the ex-wife of Tycho) and Jim, a former colleague who, in consequence of an unlucky work-related misadventure, is reduced to a skull, preserved by being kept in a jar containing a green liquid substance.

Differently from previous episodes, the player is not given the possibility to create their own playing characters, and there is no voice acting. [source:mobygames]
