Akiko's Trivocum is a trading card game and based on the Höhlenwelt novels by Harald Evers. The basic concept: The goal is simply to hit the opponent once - one hit is enough because everyone has just one life point. Of course this sounds easier than it is: at first the player has to build a magic spell using six cards of his deck. Basically a spell consists of three components: the foundation which decides the magic type, boosts with artifacts and creatures and an Aurikel card to trigger it. Then the player has to pass a handicap with a dice throw and he defeats his opponent - if his protection doesn't cancel it out. It is also possible to invoke a helper creature, then the opponent has to defeat it first.

There are overall 195 cards and a deck consists of 46, 60 or 72 cards. The game features three playing modes: random fights, duel (fighting many opponents until the whole world map is conquered) and adventure. In the latter one is based on the first few chapters of volume 1 (Die Bruderschaftvon Yoor). As Leandra the player uncovers a conspiracy. Of course there are a lot of card fights but the rest of the mode is played like classical Choose-your-own-adventure books: The player gets to read a text passage and has multiple choices on what to do next. The same goes for the numerous conversations. [source:mobygames]
