Dino D-Day Dino D-Day tells an alternative World War II story where the Nazis have been able to resurrect dinosaurs and have them fight on their side in the war. The game is a class based multiplayer first person shooter built with the Source engine where players can join either the Axis or the Allies. Each side has seven different classes with different weapons, equipment and capabilities. For the Allies all but one of the classes are human while the Axis has access to three different dinosaurs. The humans are played mostly like in any other shooters and can use common weapons of the era such as thompsons and mausers. Some of the dinosaurs are also equipped with weapons but are more commonly used in melee battle.

The play style differs for each dinosaur. Velociraptors are played in first person and is very fast and can leap high. The other dinosaurs are played in third person. The desmatosuchus looks like a walking tank and has an anti-aircraft gun on the back. It's slow but can take the most damage. The dilophosaur is fast and can knock down enemies with a head butt while sprinting. It can then pick up knocked out enemies and use them as a weapon. It can also do the same with goats that can be found around the maps. At times the player will also get to play as the t-rex. As if it wasn't deadly enough, here it's been equipped with machine guns on each side of its skull. It's very powerful and is immune to most weapons. The t-rex can eat enemies to regain health.

Some of the classes can use special abilities. The Axis can summon kamikaze pterosaurs while the Allies can use more traditional artillery strikes. Both sides also have characters that can heal. One of the Allies can also go berserk after scoring three kills in a life. When doing this he gets a massive boost to his melee combat. The Allies can also throw a jackrabbit which is too tempting for the velociraptor who will start eating on it. The player controlling the raptor will lose control and the opposition can then easily kill it.

There are three game types in Dino D-Day: king of the hill, team deathmatch and objectives. In king of the hill the teams must capture an area and then hold it till the game ends. Team deathmatch is simply about reaching the frag limit first. There are two objectives maps. On one the Allies have to capture two machine gun nests. If they succeed with this the Axis will get access to a styracosaur and have to reach the far end side to win. On the other map the Allies must plant destroy a bridge by planting five satchel charges. [source:mobygames]
