The Dracula Files Michael and Quinn are descendants of the Harker family, famous for defeating Count Dracula more than a hundred years before. After the sudden death of their parents in a hotel fire, they discover a note in a safety box with instructions about contacting the Van Helsing allies in London, if the vampire rises again. At the same time, their reporter friend Mark is investigating the mysterious disappearance of several tourists near a winery belonging to a man called Vladimir Draco.

The Dracula Files is a hidden object game with adventure elements. The player has to search and find all the items from a list at the bottom of the screen within a time limit, on locations around the winery and other places filled with assorted objects. A mirror at the left side shows the silhouette of a selected list entry. Some of the collected items are stored inside the inventory to be used directly, or to be dragged and dropped on portions of the scenery to perform an action and solve puzzles. Each location has a hidden area that usually can only be accessed with an inventory tool.

Some mini-games appear between chapters, where the player has to reassemble jigsaw puzzles, distribute the weight of stones between pressure panels, solve chess puzzles, match pairs of cards in a memory game, and other similar challenges. The hint button highlights the position of one of the required items, but takes some time to recharge after use. [source:mobygames]
