DriftZone DriftZone is a shoot 'em up based on Asteroids. Players take control of a space ship floating around in a dangerous part of space called Vhol Drift. The ship is controlled by applying thrust to the engines. Space is full of asteroids and alien ships and therefore the player has to use his state of the art P-Type missile launcher to clean things up. The game feature three different space ships each with its own weapon configuration. The player only has one life and once he has been destroyed it's game over. The ship does however have armour. Some of the larger asteroids in the game has power ups hidden in them that the player can pick up. This includes new weaponry for the ship such as double, long and rear shots as well as shield, speed and armour upgrades.

DriftZone consists of two game modes, the classic mode and the arcade mode. Classic plays on one screen and resembles the classic Asteroids gameplay. In the arcade mode, players have more space to explore and therefore is more tactical. [source:mobygames]
