Guns of Icarus Guns of Icarus is a shooter combined with time management mechanics. The game takes place in a Steampunk setting where the player takes on the role of a privateer that ferries goods through the air with his zeppelin.

As the privateer the player controls stationary guns on the zeppelin. In third person the player can move around the ship towards various weapons installed on deck. These can be used in first person in order to fend of enemies in the form of various airplanes. As the enemies fire the player's ship various parts can get damaged which require the player to fix them by running up to them and holding the repair button. When certain things get damaged too much this also affects the zeppelin or mission as a whole. For example when the engines are taken out the zeppelin will no longer move forward until they are fixed, or when the cargo is destroyed the player will not receive any bonus upgrades when the level is finished.

The player can choose unlocked missions from a map and readjust the weaponry and armor of his zeppelin before each mission. When the player finishes a mission with 40% or more of the cargo intact additional weapons are unlocked (with a bonus if 80% or more survives). During the level the player just has to hold out until the destination is reached.

The game features different times of day and weathers which can impede vision.

Aside from the story mode there is a multiplayer mode and a survival mode. [source:mobygames]
