Mysterious Worlds: The Secret of Oak Island A man receives his grandmother's house as inheritance, along with all the pending bills. While rummaging through the things left at the place, he finds her diary with notes about an ancient pirate booty buried in Oak Island, Canada. He starts to investigate about the legend, hoping to finally discover the elusive lost treasure.

Mysterious Worlds: The Secret of Oak Island is a hidden object game based on the mystery surrounding the famous "Money Pit", a deep shaft rumored to contain buried riches. Most of the time, the objective is to find and collect a series of objects listed at the bottom of the screen within a time limit, on locations related to the case. At the start, the player has to choose between two difficulty modes to play with more or less time.

There are five tabs at the top of the list, each for a different device. They become available progressively through the game. The scanner reveals hidden codes, the magnifying glass helps when searching for small items, the night vision and x-ray goggles reveal obstructed and concealed objects and the scuba gear is necessary to dive underwater. A compass at the left side acts as the hint button, replacing the cursor and spinning fast when far away from one of the required objects, and slowing to a halt when near and over one of them.

Pages found on the locations describe the history of the pit, and the failed attempts to find the treasure. Between the hidden object scenes, there are some puzzles that take place on a separate screen. They are jigsaw puzzles with maps and broken artifacts, and cryptographic puzzles where a text has to be deciphered by replacing its symbols with alphabet letters. [source:mobygames]
