Tap Tap Revenge: Metallica is a Tap Tap Revenge 3-version focusing on the famous metal-band Metallica featuring ten songs spread over their whole discography including "Enter Sandman" and "Master of Puppets".

The gameplay remains exactly the same as in the original game. Balls come rolling down a screen in the beat of the music and the player has to hit them at the correct time when they reach the bottom in order to score points. If he keeps hitting the balls correctly, his multiplier will go up until it reaches a maximum of 8x which is activated by shaking the device. In addition special balls come down the ramp which unlock access to power-ups if all hit correctly like a temporary 16x-multiplier.

The game features four difficulty modes ranging from easy to extreme. Hard and extreme are played in landscape-mode and feature four and five lanes instead of the normal three. Also available are four unlockable boss tracks and a battle mode either against the computer or over bluetooth against another player which features various kinds of weapons that obstruct the view for a few seconds.
