All seems peaceful at the Hakurei Shrine, which has been target for demonic invasions several times. Naturally, things can't go this way forever: a new demonic army emerges from the mountain lake nearby. Reimu, the shrine maiden, must once again face the demons. But this time, an old rival - a young witch named Marisa - decides to play her own game, crossing Reimu's way...

T?h?: Gens?ky? is the fourth entry in the T?h? series. Gameplay-wise, it returns to the single-player vertically scrolling shooter template first introduced in the second game. The game looks and plays similarly, also featuring many recurrent enemies; however, there are more different upgrades, including a new mode that slows down the enemies' movement.
