Totem Quest Totem Quest is a tile matching game with a new twist: besides matching three or more tiles by color on a grid, they also have to be turned and connected as jigsaw pieces. After connecting the minimum of three, the game waits a few seconds before removing the tiles, giving a chance to add more pieces to the chain. Long chains give more points and charge the power-ups that randomly appear on the grid. The objective of each level is to break the tile background by making matches over it. A setting sun at the right side show the time left to finish the level.

The power-ups are activated by clicking directly on them. The bomb explodes surrounding tiles, the horizontal and vertical arrows remove rows and columns, the lightning bolt vaporizes random pieces and the blue swirl paints adjacent tiles to the same color. The tomahawk axe is charged with each successful match, and when ready it can be used to break one of the pieces.

Some tiles have gems set in the middle. By making matches with these pieces, the jewels can be collected in a tray at the bottom of the screen. They upgrade the power-ups, making them more effective.

A few of the pieces are either locked or chained. Locked tiles can't be turned, but still can be connected and removed from the grid. Chained pieces can't be connected or matched, but can break free when a match is performed on adjacent tiles. [source:mobygames]
