Casebook: Episode III - Snake in the Grass is the third installment in the episodic Casebook detective series. After the happenings in Casebook: Episode 2 - The Watcher, Detective Burton gets more and more obsessed about his enemy. Now he finds him again in a small town named Garden, where a man was killed in the local church. Burton is sure that he knows who the culprit is but there are two problems: Burton has no jurisdiction in Garden and another man already confessed to the crime...

The main gameplay aspect is the searching of crime scenes and the photographing of clues. These photographs are evaluated in the mobile crime bus. Most of these evaluations are carried out with mini games. The game has a new help feature which guides the player to the next important piece of evidence when stuck.

All protagonists and the crime scenes are filmed in full motion video. In comparison to the second case, the amount of witnesses and crime scenes was slightly reduced again. There are a some new mini games but due to the fact that the player mainly has to investigate chemical issues, many old mini games make no or only a brief appearance. [source:mobygames]
