There are three ways to play Checkers Ultimate -- against the computer, competing against 10 computer opponents and unlocking each opponent through a win; in addition, you can play a friend on the same computer in a game of "Hotseat" like regular checkers; finally, you can play Checkers Ultimate over the Internet.

Players are given the option to play "official" Checkers -- according to the "must jump" rule or a more casual Checkers which allows you to take a jump or not.
