Dream Sleuth Catherine has the same recurring dream, where a little girl is threatened by a mysterious man. She decides to investigate, to find more information about the child and her whereabouts.

Dream Sleuth is a hidden object game with adventure elements and puzzles. Most of the time, the objective is to search the screen for an object or several instances of the same item. The name or silhouette of the required item is displayed at the top of the screen, alongside the inventory where some of the collected objects are stored. From there they can be dragged and dropped on top of each other, or on parts of the scenery, to be combined or solve puzzles. Sparkling scenery objects can be pushed away, sometimes revealing a necessary item hidden underneath them.

Puzzles appear from the time to time with implementations of classic games, like jigsaw puzzles, a Simon game with piano keys, a spot-the-differences game with the screen split in two similar images, concentration, hangman, a Pipe Dream clone with circuits, a Mastermind game with door keys, and other similar challenges. The hint button at the top shows the exact position of one of the required items. [source:mobygames]
