After struggling to prevent a human mage to use hidden lore of the Elven race and restoring elvish glory, the plot revolves now around the player who has been sent on a top secret mission by the Grand Master of the Order of Marcus, and to accomplish this, during the game's sixteen missions, there will be five new artifacts, two new heroes (Captain Lutius and Cornelius, the elvish ranger) and twelve new spells, featuring specially a powerful holy spear of Cornelius, that introduces new mechanics to the game.
Elven Legacy: Ranger is the first expansion of Elven Legacy taking place after the events of the the first game. However, while in the first game each unit?s operation could only be performed once per turn (one move and one attack allowed), Cornelius now is armed with a holy spear that can apply special powers to his attacks, and which can be used without losing his turn, turning in a major strategic change in the game.
