Fighting Sail is a ship battle game written in HiSoft Basic.There are two game modes: Campaign and One battle. In campaign mode you control the USS Constitution during the war of 1812. In one battle mode you can choose to control one of five different ships: Sloop, Brig, Frigate, 74 S-O-L or 100 S-O-L. After you have chosen which ship to control you see and info screen presenting your and your enemy's ships plus a historical note about the battle you will enter.

When you engaged an enemy ship you can load you cannons with four types of ammunition:Single ball: standard ammunition, it has the longest range.Chain shot: this type of ammo is used to damage the riggingGrape shot: ammunition very effective against the crew.Double ball: to balls loaded at once, has a maximum range of one.If you feel confident enough to win you can board the enemy ship and let your crew fight the other crew hand to hand.
