Forest In Forest the player assumes the role of a forest ranger and must determine the amount of diseased trees in the forest.

There are two play modes: a simulation mode and a game mode. In the simulation mode the player can set various variables such as the number of trees in the forest, the number of samples and the number of trees per sample. The player can either set the diseased amount himself or guess at it from the sample results.

In the game mode the player can only determine the amount of samples and the amount of trees per sample. Each sample costs a start-up sum and one additional dollar per tree in the sample. The idea is to estimate the diseased percentage as closely as possible. Every percentage away from the actual amount will cost the player additional money. Once an estimation is made the game will also show the player what the computer would have guessed using its methods and what the costs would have been. The player must aim to have less costs as the computer. [source:mobygames]
